Adam LeWinter and Jeff Orlowski are the filmmakers of “Chasing Ice” and what they saw was stunning. It was the largest glacier calving ever to be recorded and it took place in Western Greenland. Apparently this glacier retreated 1 mile across and 3 miles wide, and the ice was 3,000 feet high, or 300-400 feet above water. Just thinking about witnessing this massive glacier break up this close is incredible. This has been described by the men as a mixture of “magical and horrible” with both emotions being felt at the same time.
