While you will probably think these are made of stone, believe it or not these are actually paper sculptures! Look closely and you’ll begin to see just how these are made from actual paper, yet totally resemble stone.
Li Hongbo’s paper statues at the Klein Sun Gallery in New York appear as heavy material works, but watch as they are pulled apart revealin layers of paper sheets.
And that’s exactly how the artist created these works. They are made by layering literally thousands of pieces of paper together. From there the artist carves out forms with amazing detail.
