Ballet Dancer Misty Copeland Recreates Popular Edgar Degas Masterpieces In Stunning Set Of Photos

Misty Copeland, American Ballet Theatre’s principal ballerina, has brilliantly recreated some of Edgar Degas’ most famous paintings for the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Photographers Ken Browar and Deborah Ory are responsible for capturing the world-renowned dancer in this beautiful editorial spread. The resemblance to Degas’ original works is uncanny. Copeland copies the graceful poses while dressed in high fashion creations by Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, and Oscar de la Renta that look like literal carbon copies from the paintings.

The concept behind the photoshoot is to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, appropriately titled “Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty.”
