What can you do with an old wooden pallet? You can turn them into an outdoor swimming pool, a nightstand, and, if you’re the adventurous type, you can make an entire tiny house. DIY expert Amy Baesler has recently shared a new project that shows just how well wooden pallets and home gardens go together. Amy runs the blog Her Tool Belt, and she has figured out how to turn her spare wooden pallets into a feeder for her front yard. Scroll down to see exactly what Amy did to create this genius DIY product and how you can do it for yourself.
For this project you will need two pallets, a hole saw, a drill, screws, and packing peanuts. Start by building the legs and attaching the bottom piece so it looks like the image below.
Then, drill holes in the sides and fill it all up with soil. Amy recommends using packing peanuts as filler inside the planter.
Once the soil is inside, you can begin planting your flowers. It may take a while for everything to fill out, but after a few weeks …
… you will get a fully grown planter that will be the gorgeous centerpiece your front yard needed.
