The holiday season is almost upon us, so it’s time to make your vacation plans before it’s too late. And if you live in a colder part of the world, there’s no better way to cherish your days off than by going somewhere tropical.
But instead of going on just another island vacation, you should instead book a room at the Manta Resort — a hotel that’s… entirely underwater.
Under the Indian Ocean and off the coast of Pemba Island lies the Manta Resort.
But this is no ordinary hotel.
It’s actually one of the world’s only underwater hotels.
That’s right. This hotel bedroom is completely submerged 13 feet underwater.
It is located in a “blue hole” – a gap inside a greater coral reef.
As you sleep, needlefish and other beautiful sea creatures drift past your window.
Snorkeling takes on a whole new dimension when you can wave to your loved ones while they are still in bed.
The hotel was designed Swedish artist Mikael Genberg, who also constructed the floating Utter Inn in Sweden’s Lake Malaren.
The cost for one person can run up to $900 a night, or $1500 a night for couples.
But the glow coming from beneath the waves is beckoning you to the adventure of a lifetime.
