With November comes Veteran’s Day. It is sometimes called Remembrance Day or Armistice Day in other countries, but the date and meaning behind it remains the same. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month was the exact moment that hostilities ended during WWI in 1918, but the commemoration is used to honor all those who have lost their lives in service regardless of the battle or war.
As part of a personal project to honor those that lost their lives fighting for our freedom, the 11-year-old boy in this video traveled to Normandy for the 70th anniversary of D-Day in 2014. The Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 was one of the most important battles of WWII, and it is hard not to be moved by this boy’s tribute.
