Hospital Installed Camera In The NICU To Connect Families From Around The World

Technology is making this world a better place for – parents of newborn babies. With a $73,000 grant from Royal Charities, the University of Kansas Hospital has installed 21 cameras in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). When a baby is born prematurely, they require special care and may have to be in the hospital for a long time.

Parents of these babies are unable to be with their newborns – until now. The cameras are called “Angel Eyes” and it allows parents to see their babies anytime they want using a tablet or cell phone! Like many soldiers, Sam Last was deployed when his daughter, Charlie was born. Because she was born six weeks early, she had to go to the NICU, luckily Sam was able to see his baby girl because of Angel Eyes!
