Waiter Helps Mother Regain Control Of Fussy Toddler

Katie Donaldson brought her 2-year-old, Pixie, to a pizza shop called Dough in Manchester, England. Little did she know she was walking into an incredible act of kindness. The mother was with her friends, and Pixie was being a bit of a picky eater.

Like any good mother, Katie remained attentive to her little one, who asked for a Mickey Mouse pizza cut into tiny squares, seltzer water, crayons, and the undivided attention of their water, whom she called “the beautiful man.”

Pixie even demanded the waiter be the one to cut the pizza for her. Shockingly, he cut up the pizza without hesitation. He even came in to check on Pixie every 10 minutes. Still, Katie’s food was getting cold. She had to keep the crayons in order, calm Pixie down when she had tantrums after coloring out of the lines, and make sure the baby girl ate.

That’s when the waiter swooped in again, to Katie’s surprise.

“All this time my food is going cold, I’ve barely spoken to my friends whilst I’ve been picking up crayons and making sure she’s eating all her perfectly sized pizza, and low and behold over comes this hero who seemed to sense my hunger (perfect timing again!) and asks pixie if she would like to eat with him at the next table,” Katie wrote on Facebook.

The waiter, who she later identified as Mark Quinn, took Pixie over to the next table, brought her ice cream, and hung out with her the whole time. His shift was long over and he chose to spend his free time with Pixie.

“It might not seem like a lot, but that 10 minutes with my friends was heavenly. My food was still hot (ish!), no drinks got spilt which is a record, all toddler meltdowns were avoided, and most of all, my little girl had the biggest smile on her face all night,” Katie wrote.
