An 80-Year-Old Man’s Rendition Of Coldplay’s “Fix You” Brought The Audience To Tears

Before you start watching this one, we recommend you have a box of tissues at hand. [email protected] Chorus’s cover of Coldplay’s Fix You is quite frankly otherworldly in its plain, simple beauty. It’s performed as a solo by Fred Knittle, who at the time was suffering from congestive heart failure. He came out of a five-year retirement from the group to record this song in 2007 for a documentary about the senior choir.

Fred passed away in 2009, peacefully and surrounded by friends and family. Due in no small part to this incredible footage, his obituary was published globally, and this performance, of course, will live on for a long, long time.
