Little Girl Breaks Military Protocol To Run Into Her Father’s Arms

One little girl couldn’t hold back her excitement when she spotted her dad, Lt. Daniel Oglesby, after his eight-month deployment.

Like the young girl who broke down when her soldier dad surprised her after being gone for nine months, this precious little girl will also make your heart melt.

Oglesby was one of the hundreds of soldiers from Fort Carson’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, who returned home to Colorado from southwest Asia on Tuesday.

As he stood upright with the rest of the soldiers for the homecoming ceremony, his daughter, Karas, ran across the room right into his arms. He may have still been information, but Oglesby bent down to hug and kiss his little girl making the moment even more heartwarming.

“She was excited. She spotted me from a couple rows back and she couldn’t contain herself. I wasn’t gonna tell her no,” Lt. Ogelsby told Colorado’s KKTV 11 News. “Happy to see her.”

Many viewers were touched by the incident and didn’t seem to care that protocol had been slightly broken.

“My wish is that all children know that kind of love from their parents. Love it,” one user wrote on the news station’s Facebook page.
