While most of us would love to be fit and in shape, the expense of joining a gym, combined with the time it takes to travel to and from a facility, then shower and change, can be a huge impediment to being the best we can be, physique-wise.
But the truth is, you can do pretty much everything you need to do to pump up your workout schedule right at home, as long as you have a plan, an intention, and stay focused.
For a time allotment of just an hour or so per day (a little less if you’re just starting out, and a little more if you’re an experienced exerciser), you can go from blimpy to trim in no time at all. Naturally, you’ll have to follow an intelligent eating plan, if you want to lose weight as well.
And as you probably already know, water, water, and more water is crucial to feeling great and losing pounds.
Set up a schedule, alternating upper and lower body exercises. There is plentiful information on this online to help you out, as well as You Tube videos to show you how to do exercises the right way. For the best results, you’ll want to work out about five days a week.
Whether that means working out during the week and taking weekends off, or alternating workout days with days off, is really up to you. As long as you get those five days in, you should be just fine.
You’ll also want to alternate cardio (to get your heart rate up and burn calories) with weight lifting (to strengthen and tone your muscles). Staying in shape will definitely keep you younger at heart and full of vitality. Make the investment, and watch the dividends pay off as the years go by.
