He Told His Son He Is Getting Too Old To Garden. His Son’s Response Is Beyond Clever

There was an elderly Italian man who lived in New Jersey, in a home by himself. When it came time to plant his yearly tomato garden, he realized that the ground would be more difficult to dig than he had thought. Vincent, his only son, used to help him with this work, but Vincent was in prison. Saddened by the idea that he would not be able to plant his garden, the man wrote to Vincent:

“Dear Vincent,

I am feeling pretty sad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days.

Love, Papa”

After a few days, Vincent replied:

“Dear Papa,

Don’t dig up that garden. That’s where the bodies are buried.

Love, Vinnie”

To the man’s surprise, he woke at 4 o’clock the following morning to find FBI agents and local police officers in his yard. They dug up the garden and searched for bodies, but they found none. Realizing that there was nothing to be found, they apologized to the man and went on their way.

Later that day, the man received another letter from Vincent:

“Dear Papa,

Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances.

Love you, Vinnie”
