When the husband returned home from work, he knew by just looking at her; her emotions were on overdrive. The workaholic husband then tried to appease his wife, who was infuriated by how little time he spent at home.
“Tell me what you want, Louise” he begged.
“Nothing is too good for you. How about a new Cuisinart Machine?”
She shook her head.
“A mink? Floor length this time?”
Her pout deepened.
“A two-weeks Caribbean Cruise?”
He shook her head more vehemently.
“Ski Chalet? Or may be a place at the beach?”
“So what do you want, Louise?” asked her frustrated mate.
“A divorce!” she replied simply.
“Gee, I want planning to spend that much,” he admitted.
Moral of the story. A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. Really put some thought into it, and do something special for your better half this year. Unless you can afford to part with half your stuff, I’d stay away from kitchen appliances, or anything else really heavy, just in case she throws the gift in your direction. Flowers, from a florist, not the cheap gas station variety, and a public romantic dinner for two, are smart choices. But remember to make those reservations, buy those cards and flowers today! Tomorrow could be too late!
