Not gonna lie about how we met (at work), or how we got engaged.
I tell people that he surprised me while we were out of town for the weekend together.
In reality, I had gotten pregnant, and we went to a women’s clinic to confirm. The test was definitely positive, and he proposed in the parking lot afterward. I love him, so I said yes, even though in the back of my mind I thought he was just doing it because it was the “right thing to do.”
I had a miscarriage later that day. Kind of expected him to break off the engagement as soon as he could, but he didn’t. When I told him that, he said that even though we weren’t going to have a baby now, he couldn’t see anyone else being the mother of his children.
We were married 7 months later, and have been for 3 years now.
