This amateur scientist demonstrated, you can pour some molten aluminum into a fish tank full of water beads… and watch what happens!
Hang on to your helmets! We’re about to do some serious science!
First, he took a whole bunch of highly absorbent polymer water beads, which soak up 200 times their weight in water and expand into perfectly clear little globules.
After they’ve soaked for a few hours and absorbed all the water, he added them to a large fish tank.
Finally, molten aluminum is prepared in a homemade forge.
Then it was time for to pour!
As cool that was, it’s not half as amazing as what he then pulled out of the tank! That might be just a little bit too dangerous to try at home, but just watching it is pretty amazing.
